The Kids on Board: AMA Car Seat Check connects caregivers with certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPSTs) who can review car seat installations, answer questions and provide personalized guidance to help ensure children are travelling safely. 

Whether you're installing a car seat for the first time, transitioning to a new seat or simply looking for peace of mind, our team is here to help.

This event is designed for: 

  • Parents and caregivers of children who use a car seat or booster seat 

  • Expecting parents preparing for a new arrival

  • Anyone looking for guidance on car seat installation and use 

 

What to Expect 

During your appointment, a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician will: 

  • Review your car seat installation 

  • Answer questions about child passenger safety 

  • Provide hands-on guidance and recommendations 

  • Help identify common installation issues 

  • Share information and resources to support safe travel 

Appointments are approximately 45 minutes in length, however if you have multiple car seats your appointment may be longer. 

 

What to Bring 

To help us provide the most accurate guidance possible, please bring: 

  • Your vehicle 

  • Your child's car seat or booster seat 

  • Your child(ren)  

  • Your vehicle owner's manual (if available) 

  • Your car seat instruction manual (if available)

Yes. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. Donations in support of childhood safety through the AMA Community Foundation will be accepted onsite.

Event organizers will determine the best course of action based on the weather forecast, including heavy rain, high winds or freezing temperatures. Registered participants will be notified in advance if the event is cancelled due to weather conditions.
