Join us at the Black Barn in Pipestone, Alberta for a North Carolina-style whole-hog barbecue.

AMA Backyard BBQ members have been sharing recipes, photos and tips online for over two years—now it's time to connect in person with a delicious occasion hosted by Ross and Esther Kovacs!

We’re kicking things off at noon with wings and beer, thanks in part to our friends at Alberta Chicken Producers. You’ll have a chance to mingle and see pit master, Peter Zukiwski, work his magic. Then, we feast! Lunch will be served buffet style*. Your meal will be made using generations old techniques from North Carolina, and you bet it will be sow-good. Dessert and all drinks are included in your ticket. Beer, wine and non-alcoholic options will be available.

While we love the little ones, we’re keeping this event 18+. We’ll be out in the country, so make sure to check the weather before leaving home and dress accordingly. Casual wear is cool with usthis is a barbecue after all!

There will be a complimentary shuttle service from Edmonton! Please arrive at AMA Edmonton South (10310 G.A. MacDonald (39A) Avenue NW) by 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. The shuttle will be at the main doors on the south side. You are also welcomed to drive to the venue yourself, however, please note that taxi services in this area is limited and costly. If you plan on drinking alcohol at the event, we strongly encourage you to make use of the shuttle! For any questions about the event, please email backyardbbq@ama.ab.ca.

*Due to the nature of the event, we will not be able to accommodate special dietary restrictions.
